Why & how we can help you :
New regulations for houses
From 1 May 2024, homes will be required to achieve 7-stars and a whole-of-home rating not less than 60 under the NatHERS option. A higher star and whole-of-home rating means the building is more energy efficient.
House performance today
Residential buildings are responsible for around 24% of overall electricity use and more than 10% of total carbon emissions in Australia. Houses with poor energy performance impact the wider national economy.

- "NatHERS also offers ratings for new homes and major renovations that include all major energy use and generation within the home. The new ‘whole of home’ performance rating assesses the energy requirements. These changes will benefit households, helping them save energy and money while improving the comfort of their home. The updates will elevate the importance of energy efficiency in new builds and renovations."
NatHERS Whole of Home Ratings
- "The Trajectory for Low Energy Buildings is a national plan that aims to achieve zero energy and carbon-ready commercial and residential buildings in Australia. It is a key initiative to address Australia’s 40% energy productivity improvement target by 2030 under the National Energy Productivity Plan. The Trajectory outlines policies to deliver cost-effective energy efficiency improvements to homes and businesses. "
Trajectory for Low Energy Buildings
- "The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) provides energy ratings for new dwellings. The new 7 star standard is the minimum standard that new homes should be built to. This is helping create energy efficient, resilient and comfortable homes for the future that cost less to run. NatHERS has been upgraded to provide world-leading measurement tools the building sector can use to support the move to net zero emissions by 2050.."
